This whole thing started after I had my car detailed. It was the first time my poor vehicle had been steamed cleaned since its birth over 6 years ago. When I got into my car post scrubbing I marveled at how good I felt in this clean space. I actually enjoyed getting in my car and driving it again! Prior to the detail it was caked with six years of kids (I am sure that most of you know what I mean).
After experiencing the extreme clean of my car I started to look around my home. Wow, what a mess! My house also needs to be detailed! My drawers, my closets, everything needs a good ole fashioned scrub.
Funny enough, just a day or two later and after a very brief conversation about a cleanse she was doing, Verge teacher Rachael gave me a book perfectly entitled Clean by Alejandro Junger, M.D.
I was intrigued. If I was so happy with how I felt with my car detailed and if I was so excited about cleaning my home, just imagine how I would feel if I steam cleaned my body? How would my mind feel after a good inner scrub? How much more energy might I have? Maybe I could get rid of those nagging extra few pounds.
Somehow I have mustered up the courage to do this cleanse. You see, I like my red wine and chocolate (almost daily). I am not one of those super healthy yogis who can give up stuff on a whim or who has lots of discipline when it comes to food choice.
So here I go on The Clean Program. It is officially Day 1 of 21. For those of you vaguely interested in doing a cleanse, I invite you to join me every few days as I update my progression. I promise not to get too detailed about the detox process.
